In a move to ensure a healthy fodder supply for the bulls (kodelu) at the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple goshala, the district administration has decided to cultivate green grass across 82 acres within the Vemulawada limits.
District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha issued instructions to the Animal Husbandry Department in this regard. The initiative aims to improve the diet of the bulls and enhance their overall well-being.
During a surprise inspection of the goshala on Wednesday, the Collector reviewed the condition of the premises, the health of the bulls, and the quality of grass currently being supplied. He directed the goshala organisers to provide green fodder to the bulls regularly, maintain cleanliness, and level the ground within the premises.
Further, he instructed District Animal Husbandry Officer Ravinder Reddy to oversee the cultivation of green grass on 82 acres of government land across three villages, 22 acres in Hanumakkapalli, 40 acres in Marripalli, and 20 acres in Mudapalli.
The Collector also directed that recently recruited staff for the goshala be deployed immediately. He instructed officials to ensure the staff are provided with a uniform and ID cards, and are properly trained in their respective duties.
Additionally, he asked the officials to take necessary steps to procure a silage baler machine to support fodder storage and management.
