llayaraja Sings for Yuvan Shankar Raja: Father-Son Duo’s First Collaboration

A rare and significant event has taken place in the Indian film music industry: legendary music composer Ilayaraja has, for the first time, sung a song under the music direction of his younger son, the popular composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. This special track, featuring both father and son’s voices, is for the upcoming Tamil film titled ‘Kombu Sivi’. As both Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja are considered top-tier music directors in the country, this unique collaboration has generated immense interest across the film fraternity.

Emotional Duet is the Film’s Main Attraction

The film crew revealed that the song, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is highly emotional. Written by lyricist Pa. Vijay, the song begins with the lines “Amma En Thangakkani, Neethane Ellam Ini”. The team believes that this track, sung jointly by Ilayaraja and Yuvan, will be the main attraction of the movie. Directed by Ponram, the film features senior actor Sarath Kumar and Captain Vijayakanth’s son, Shanmugha Pandian, in the lead roles.
