The health of Srinivas Mandhana, father of Indian women’s cricket star Smriti Mandhana, has fully recovered after his sudden illness caused the postponement of her wedding to music director Palash Muchhal at the last minute. Mandhana, who was hospitalized with heart-related symptoms just hours before the wedding, underwent an angiography, which confirmed that there were no blockages in the blood flow to his heart, and his condition was completely stable. Following all tests and treatment, Srinivas Mandhana was discharged from the hospital and sent home on Tuesday (November 25, 2025).
Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed that Smriti clearly stated that her father’s recovery is paramount, and she will only proceed with the wedding once he is completely healthy. However, while the father’s recovery brought joy, uncertainty continues to loom over the wedding date as her fiancé, Palash Muchhal, also suffered a minor illness (viral infection and acidity) due to stress and was subsequently discharged after treatment.
Adding to the speculation among fans, Smriti Mandhana has reportedly deleted the wedding ceremony photos from her Instagram account. Both families have yet to make any official announcement regarding a new wedding date. Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, had previously refuted rumors, confirming that it was Palash who insisted on postponing the wedding until his father-in-law had fully recovered.
