Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan strongly criticized YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comment dismissing the Tirumala Parakamani theft as a “minor theft.” He directly questioned Jagan, “If the same incident had occurred in your religion, would you have reacted this way?” Speaking to the media in Amaravati, Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the Indian Constitution applies equally to all religions and asserted that there should be no separate rules for Islam and Christianity versus Hinduism.
Pawan Kalyan alleged that massive corruption took place in Tirumala during the YSRCP regime and those irregularities are now coming to light. He specifically recalled the recent polyester fabric scam, where polyester shawls were supplied instead of silk, and noted that the alliance government has ordered an investigation into all alleged irregularities in Tirumala.
The Janasena leader also addressed the issue of perceived discrimination against the Hindu community. “The notion that Hindus are a majority is an illusion. Hindus are divided along lines of caste, religion, language, and region,” he remarked. He pointed out that while criticisms against Hinduism are often branded as “secularism,” when remarks are made against other religions, those religious groups quickly unite. Pawan Kalyan criticized the DMK government in Tamil Nadu for moving an impeachment motion against a judge who ruled in favor of safeguarding the rights of the Hindu community. He reiterated his demand for a special board for the protection of Sanatana Dharma to bring all temples under its purview.
