India Celebrates 77th Republic Day: PM Modi Pays Tribute at War Memorial; Grand Ceremonies in Amaravati and Hyderabad

India celebrated its 77th Republic Day with immense patriotic fervor, centered around the theme “150 Years of Vande Mataram.” The national celebrations at Delhi’s Kartavya Path were graced by distinguished chief guests Antonio Costa (President of the European Council) and Ursula von der Leyen (President of the European Commission). Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced the day’s proceedings by paying a solemn tribute to the fallen heroes at the National War Memorial, before joining the grand parade that showcased India’s military might and cultural diversity.

In a historic milestone for Andhra Pradesh, Republic Day celebrations were held for the first time in the capital city, Amaravati. Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer unfurled the national flag at a specially arranged venue near the AP High Court. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, and several High Court judges. The event marked a significant moment in the state’s journey, emphasizing the development and recognition of Amaravati as the administrative heart of the state.

In Telangana, the celebrations were held with grand splendor at the Secunderabad Parade Grounds. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hoisted the Tricolour and received the guard of honor. The event saw the participation of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, and state ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and D. Sridhar Babu. The parade featured impressive displays from various wings of the police and armed forces, alongside tableaus highlighting the state’s welfare schemes and cultural heritage, echoing the spirit of democracy across the region.
