Tribute to Martyrs Saumya and Pramod: CM Revanth Reddy Grants ₹1 Crore Ex-gratia Each

The Telangana government has provided significant financial relief to the families of Constables Saumya and Pramod Kumar, who laid down their lives in the line of duty. During his visit to Nizamabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy personally met the family members of the two fallen officers and handed over ex-gratia cheques of ₹1 crore to each family. Commemorating their sacrifices, the CM assured that the government would always stand by the families of police personnel.

Excise Constable Saumya was critically injured last month in Nizamabad while attempting to intercept a ganja (cannabis) smuggling gang. The culprits hit her with their vehicle and fled the scene; she later passed away while undergoing treatment at NIMS Hospital in Hyderabad. Recognizing her bravery, the government has promised a government job to a family member in addition to the financial aid. The administration lauded her courage in maintaining law and order as unforgettable.

Similarly, the family of Constable Pramod Kumar, who lost his life last October after being stabbed by criminals while on duty, also received this financial support. CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that the welfare of police personnel, who risk their lives for public safety, is the state’s responsibility. He stated that this financial support would provide some solace to the grieving families and affirmed that the government would continue to provide all necessary assistance in the future.
