Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi described the election results as a definitive endorsement of the Congress party’s “Prajala Telangana” vision, which focuses on welfare, dignity, and inclusive growth. The ruling Congress secured nearly 60% of the urban local bodies, winning 64 out of 116 municipalities and claiming victory in three major municipal corporations: Mancherial, Ramagundam, and Nalgonda. Out of the 2,582 total wards, Congress won 1,347, significantly outperforming the BRS, which secured 717 wards, and the BJP, which took 261. While Congress emerged as the overall leader, the results also highlighted pockets of strength for the opposition.
