YSRCP senior leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu, who was released on bail from Rajamahendravaram Central Jail after 18 days, shared his experiences with a mix of defiance and wit. He remarked that he viewed his time in prison not as a punishment, but as a “training session” that filled him with greater determination. While he claimed to have “enjoyed” his jail life to maintain high spirits, he admitted the only real struggle he faced was a physical one—accidentally slipping in the prison bathroom. He noted that he consumed the standard prison food and, despite losing some weight, remained healthy and motivated.
The former minister launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh, accusing them of specifically targeting him. Rambabu alleged that the recent attack on his residence was personally supervised by the TDP leadership, claiming that the police remained passive bystanders while his family was terrorized. He criticized the judicial irony where the attackers received immediate bail, while he, the victim, was incarcerated for nearly three weeks. He warned the ruling government that “time will turn,” and they would eventually have to pay the price for their actions.
Reiterating his absolute loyalty to YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Rambabu declared that he would stand by Jagan as long as he lives. He emphasized that the alliance government’s attempts to intimidate him through arrests and cases have failed, only serving to increase his resolve. He concluded by stating that his democratic struggle to dismantle the current coalition government would continue with redoubled vigor. Rambabu is expected to hold a comprehensive press conference in Guntur tomorrow to provide further details on his future political course of action.
