Criticism of BRS and Strategic Shift: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, President of Telangana Jagruthi, has launched a sharp critique against her former party, the BRS, stating that it has “completely failed” the people. Speaking at the ‘Rythu Sangharshana’ (Farmers’ Struggle) meeting in Jogulamba Gadwal district, she admitted that the previous BRS government had deceived the Nadigadda region. Kavitha announced a strategic shift, declaring that unlike the Telangana movement which traditionally started from Karimnagar, her future political programs and her upcoming new party will be launched from the Jogulamba Gadwal district to seek the goddess’s blessings.
Accountability and Integrity in Politics: Highlighting the lack of political ethics, Kavitha challenged the local Gadwal MLA to declare their party affiliation, suggesting they should resign if they cannot be transparent. She contrasted this with her own actions, reminding the public that she resigned from her MLC post immediately after being suspended by the BRS. She criticized the current government for prioritizing electricity for industries over farmers and pointed out that while water flows through their region, it is not reaching the local fields.
Upcoming Local Body Elections: Kavitha officially announced that Telangana Jagruthi candidates will contest in the upcoming ZPTC and MPTC elections. She urged the public to vote for those who will fight for their rights rather than those who offer money. She also took a swipe at the ruling Congress government for failing to fulfill its pre-election promises, such as providing ₹2,500 per month and a gold tula to women. She emphasized that her new party is being formed to ensure that whichever government is in power is held accountable for their promises.
