Affordable Pilgrimage Tours: South Central Railway has launched a special “Circular Journey Ticket” facility for travelers planning spiritual tours from Hyderabad. This initiative allows passengers to visit multiple prominent religious and tourist sites using a single ticket. The primary advantage of this offer is the cost—travelers save approximately 25% on fare compared to booking individual point-to-point tickets. This makes long-distance pilgrimages significantly more accessible for middle-class families and budget travelers.
Extensive Routes and Flexibility: SCR is currently offering 19 different tour packages starting from major hubs like Secunderabad, Kacheguda, and Hyderabad (Nampalli) stations. These routes cover vast stretches of the country:
-
From Kacheguda: Tours include Aurangabad, Ujjain, Bhadrachalam Road, Tirupati, Chennai Central, Bengaluru City, Mysore, and Hubballi.
-
From Secunderabad: Covers Bijapur, Kolhapur, Vasco da Gama (Goa), Mysore, Tirupati, and Chennai.
-
From Bhadrachalam Road: Long-distance circuits covering Puri, Howrah, Varanasi, Ayodhya (Faizabad), Rishikesh, Delhi, and Mumbai. The ticket allows for a maximum of 8 break journeys (stops) and is valid for up to 56 days, depending on the total distance of the chosen circuit.
Special Discounts and Booking Process: In addition to the standard 25% saving, senior citizens are eligible for further concessions: 40% for men and 50% for women.
-
How to Book: These tickets cannot be booked online or at regular counters initially. Interested passengers must visit the office of the Divisional Commercial Manager or the Chief Reservation Supervisor at Nampalli, Kacheguda, or Secunderabad stations.
-
Procedure: Officials will calculate the total fare based on your selected itinerary and provide an application form. You then take this form to the booking counter to purchase the journey ticket.
-
Note: Once the main ticket is issued, separate reservations for berths must be made for each leg of the journey according to standard railway rules. Railway officials recommend booking at least 60 days in advance, especially during non-peak seasons, to ensure seat availability.
