The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has issued a crucial advisory for devotees regarding the cancellation of Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens and various darshan formats on March 2 and 3, 2026. This decision comes in view of the Lunar Eclipse (Chandra Grahanam) scheduled for March 3. Consequently, TTD has announced that SSD tokens will not be issued on March 1 and 2 in Tirupati. Normal token issuance will resume on March 3 for those seeking darshan on March 4.
According to the TTD schedule, the Srivari temple doors will remain closed for approximately 10.5 hours on March 3, from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM. Although the eclipse starts at 3:20 PM and ends at 6:47 PM, it is a tradition to close the temple six hours prior to the event. After the eclipse concludes, purification rituals like Shuddhi and Punyahavachanam will be performed. Devotees will be allowed for darshan only after 8:30 PM on that day.
Major services including VIP Break Darshan, ₹300 Special Entry Darshan, and SRIVANI Darshan have been canceled for March 3. Additionally, privileged darshans for parents with infants, the elderly, and the physically challenged are also suspended. Arjitha sevas such as Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, and Sahasra Deepalankara Seva stand canceled. TTD has also confirmed that Annaprasadam distribution centers in Tirumala, Tirupati, and Tiruchanur will remain closed during the eclipse period.
