In a powerful video message shared on Instagram, she expressed her deep frustration over the persistent online harassment she has faced regarding her personal life, divorce, and political stances. Renu warned that she is determined to identify those making derogatory comments and will personally visit their homes to confront them in front of their parents and family members.
The actress highlighted a recent incident involving her advocacy for stray dogs, which sparked a fresh wave of abuse. She clarified that her recent press meet in Hyderabad, organized by an NGO, was meant to question the indiscriminate killing of stray dogs rather than supporting aggressive ones. Renu expressed her agony over how her words were edited and misrepresented in a tragic case involving a child’s death. She questioned the upbringing of such trolls, asking if their families are aware of the “culture” they display online by attacking a woman’s character and personal history.
Renu Desai emphasized that her NGO is dedicated to the welfare of stray dogs, not humans, and therefore no one has the right to abuse her for her specific humanitarian choices. She urged social media users to maintain basic decency and refrain from using vulgar language. By threatening to “expose their misdeeds” to their parents and sisters, she aims to hold keyboard warriors accountable for the psychological distress they cause. She concluded by stating that only those with a degraded mindset stoop to such levels of online cruelty.
