Amaravati to Mirror Telugu Pride: CM Naidu Approves ₹119 Crore Telugu Cultural Centre!

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has envisioned the state capital, Amaravati, as a global showcase for the “glory of Telugu culture.” Presiding over the 59th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) on Tuesday, the Chief Minister granted approval for the construction of a dedicated Telugu Cultural Centre with an estimated budget of ₹119 crore. He emphasized that the capital should not just be an administrative hub but a vibrant destination that reflects the heritage and identity of the Telugu people, urging officials to select a name that resonates with this cultural vision.

The meeting also saw major progress on the infrastructure and investment front. Administrative approval was granted for ₹2,316 crore to cover mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works for the under-construction AP Secretariat and Head of Department (HOD) towers. Highlighting the growing credibility of the “Amaravati Brand,” the CM noted that global giants like DLF are keen on investing in the city. Additionally, plans were discussed for a massive convention center to host government and international events, along with a prestigious tourism project spanning 167 acres in Neerukonda.

Looking toward future growth, the Chief Minister highlighted sports as a significant upcoming revenue sector. He reviewed the master plan for the proposed Sports City in Amaravati, aiming to make the state a hub for commercially viable sporting events. The meeting also finalized several land allocations, including 80 cents for a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) office and 5 acres for the Andhra Pradesh State Institute of Rural Development (APSIRD). CM Naidu directed officials to maintain constant communication with potential investors to ensure the city continues to attract self-financed, high-impact projects.
