In a massive boost for Indian cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest T20 rankings, showcasing the sheer dominance of India’s young talent. Emerging opener Abhishek Sharma has climbed to the No. 1 position in the T20 batting rankings following a string of explosive performances. He is followed closely by wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan, who secured the second spot, ensuring that the top two rankings in the world belong to Team India.
The middle-order depth of the Indian team is also reflected in the rankings, with several players featuring in the top 10. Young sensation Tilak Varma has moved to the 7th position, while T20 specialist Suryakumar Yadav remains a strong contender at 9th. Furthermore, Kerala’s star batter Sanju Samson made a significant leap of 18 places to reach the 22nd rank, highlighting the intense competition and form within the national squad.
In the bowling department, the rankings saw some shifts as well. Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy moved down slightly to the 2nd spot, remaining India’s highest-ranked bowler in the format. Ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah continues to be a mainstay in the elite list, holding onto the 6th position. These rankings solidify India’s status as a powerhouse in the shortest format of the game as they prepare for upcoming international assignments.
