Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu issued a series of critical directives to District Collectors during a high-level conference on Wednesday, emphasizing a shift toward cleaner cities and more efficient governance. Expressing dissatisfaction with the state of sanitation observed during his recent visits to Kakinada and Samalkot, the CM urged Municipal Commissioners to take “Swachh Andhra” seriously. He stressed that cities must compete for Swachh Survekshan awards, reminding officials that cleanliness is not just a civic duty but a cultural necessity and a pillar of public health.
In a move to optimize government resources, the Chief Minister granted Collectors full authority over the transfer and rationalization of village and ward secretariat staff. He noted that the services of certain personnel, such as women police, are currently underutilized and should be redirected to departments like R&B, Health, or Municipalities where they are needed most. CM Naidu insisted that these adjustments must be transparent and based on administrative necessity rather than personal recommendations. Furthermore, he directed officials to eliminate hurdles in sanctioning loans for tenant farmers and encouraged the promotion of horticulture and animal husbandry.

Focusing on the future of administration, Naidu highlighted the integration of “Deep Tech,” including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT), to achieve faster results at lower costs. He instructed the General Administration Department to make computer proficiency a mandatory requirement for every government job. To monitor performance and enhance human resources, he directed each district to establish its own HR Institute and Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) center. Additionally, the ‘Rythanna Meekosam’ program was announced to be held later this month to directly address farmers’ grievances.
