Iran’s representative, Abdul Majid Hakim Ilahi, recently made significant remarks regarding the deep-rooted historical and cultural ties between Iran and India. He emphasized that the Iranian leadership has always viewed India as a “special friend” and expressed optimism that this bilateral relationship will expand further in the years to come. During his address, Ilahi highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation and the shared heritage that links the two nations across various sectors.
Addressing the continuity in Iran’s leadership vision, Hakim Ilahi noted that both former and current Supreme Leaders hold immense respect for India. He mentioned that the late Ayatollah Khamenei worked tirelessly to strengthen this friendship, a legacy that the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is committed to upholding. The primary goal of the current administration is to elevate strategic and diplomatic relations with India to new heights, recognizing India’s growing influence on the global stage.
In a direct appeal, the representative urged Indian citizens to stand in support of Iran, calling it a stand for “justice.” He invoked the name of Mahatma Gandhi, stating that India is a land where justice, knowledge, culture, and civilization have always flourished. By aligning with Iran, he suggested that India would be staying true to its foundational values of standing by the truth, especially in the current complex geopolitical climate.
