IPL 2026: Green Signal for Chinnaswamy Stadium; RCB Ready to Ignite Home Ground Passion

The Karnataka government has officially granted permission to host the upcoming IPL 2026 matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This decision was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by State Home Minister G. Parameshwara, where security protocols and logistical arrangements were thoroughly reviewed. The approval comes as a major relief for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans, ensuring that the team can play in front of its passionate home crowd after successful security clearances.

According to the finalized schedule, RCB is slated to play a total of five league matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. In an interesting tactical move for this season, the team has also designated Raipur as its secondary home ground. Consequently, two of RCB’s league matches will be held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Having the majority of their home games in Bengaluru is expected to provide a significant psychological advantage to the squad.

Known for its short boundaries and high-scoring encounters, the Chinnaswamy Stadium is famously regarded as a paradise for batsmen, often witnessing a rain of fours and sixes. With the government’s “green signal,” the streets of Bengaluru are already echoing with the popular “Ee Sala Cup Namde” (The cup is ours this time) slogan. Stadium authorities have begun accelerating preparations to ensure a world-class experience for the thousands of fans expected to attend.
