Andhra Pradesh Minister for BC Welfare and Textiles, S. Savitha, launched a scathing attack on YSRCP leader and former minister Roja, following her recent controversial statements. The Minister remarked that despite being rejected by the voters of Nagari in the 2024 elections, Roja has not changed her aggressive and “arrogant” tone. Savitha warned Roja that any further disparaging comments directed at Nara Bhuvaneswari would be met with a serious political retaliation, accusing the YSRCP leadership of using Roja as a “script-reading mouthpiece” to distract the public from internal family disputes involving YS Vijayamma and Jagan Mohan Reddy.
During a press briefing, Minister Savitha challenged the religious credentials presented by the YSRCP, stating that the TDP leadership does not need “cinematic sets” to prove their devotion. She pointed out that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has a lifelong tradition of visiting the Tirumala temple with his family and presenting sacred offerings according to government protocols. In contrast, she questioned whether Jagan Mohan Reddy had ever presented such offerings alongside his wife, Bharati, during his five-year tenure, challenging Roja to provide evidence of the same.
The Minister further criticized the YSRCP’s track record regarding the protection of Hindu temples and traditions, citing incidents of idol desecration and chariot burning during their administration. Savitha noted that CM Chandrababu Naidu would be visiting Tirumala with his family on March 21 and challenged Jagan Mohan Reddy to provide a declaration of faith and visit the deity with his spouse if he truly believes in Hindu customs. Concluding her remarks, she advised Jagan to first ensure justice for his mother and sisters before involving non-political figures like Bhuvaneswari in “degraded” political discourse.
