Telangana Jagruthi President Kalvakuntla Kavitha launched a fresh attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), stating that the party has not only changed its name but also its very “soul.” Speaking to the media a day before the official announcement of her own new political party, Kavitha pointed out that the party was originally formed two-and-a-half decades ago to fulfill the aspirations of the Telangana people. However, she criticized the leadership for completely altering the party’s performance and core identity over the past few years.
Elaborating on her criticism, Kavitha asserted that changing the party’s name from TRS to BRS severed its deep-rooted “umbilical cord” connection with the public. She emphasized that whenever a political party deviates from its primary objectives and foundational ideology, it struggles to survive in the long run. According to her, the BRS is currently facing a severe existential crisis precisely because it abandoned the core principles upon which it was built.
Shifting her focus to the state’s current political landscape, Kavitha expressed concern that despite a change in the state government, numerous problems continue to plague Telangana, and the true aspirations of its people remain largely unfulfilled. She declared that the primary motive behind launching her new political outfit is to actively fight for and achieve these very goals. Concluding her address, she stressed that Telangana is now in dire need of a pure, dedicated regional party that genuinely works for the welfare of its citizens.
