Professor Nageshwar clarifies on AP Police notice rumors: Meets Telangana DGP over social media misinformation

Prominent political analyst and former MLC Professor K. Nageshwar met with Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand on Tuesday. Speaking to the media after the high-profile meeting, Professor Nageshwar firmly clarified that he has not received any legal notices or summons from the Andhra Pradesh police department. He stated that he approached the Telangana DGP to seek official action against the ongoing misinformation and defamatory campaigns being spread against him on various social media platforms.

The issue stems from a recent televised debate where Professor Nageshwar made certain remarks regarding Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, which triggered a massive political controversy. Addressing the situation, the professor reminded the media that he had already unconditionally withdrawn those controversial statements shortly after the broadcast.

Following his televised remarks, several FIRs were registered against him in cities like Kakinada and Machilipatnam based on formal complaints filed by Janasena Party leaders. Consequently, rumors went viral on social media claiming that special teams of the AP police had arrived in Hyderabad to arrest him. While the Andhra Pradesh government had already dismissed those arrest rumors earlier, Professor Nageshwar’s direct clarification on Tuesday has finally put an end to the widespread speculation.
