Indian Kesar Mangoes Hit Belgian Retail Shelves as Promotional Tasting Campaigns Begin….

In a significant boost to India’s agricultural export footprint, the country’s celebrated Kesar mangoes have officially hit retail shelves across Belgium. The commercial rollout was formally announced by the Embassy of India to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union (EU). This expansion comes as a direct result of joint promotional strategies spearheaded by the Indian diplomatic mission and the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), making the premium fruit widely accessible to European consumers through major Colruyt supermarket outlets.

To mark the launch and engage local consumers, the Indian Embassy organized dedicated public tasting sessions across selected retail stores on June 4, 2026. This initiative followed the successful hosting of the 5th annual Mango Tasting Event in Brussels a day prior, on June 3. During the diplomatic gathering, Ambassador Pranay Verma highlighted the fruit as a prime symbol of India’s rich agricultural heritage and hospitality. Attendees at the event were treated to diverse mango-based culinary creations alongside EU geographically indicated (GI) protected Kangra Tea, offering international guests an authentic taste of India’s culinary traditions.

This European milestone closely mirrors India’s ongoing global market expansion, following the successful re-entry of multiple Indian mango varieties into the United States’ Pacific Northwest region last month. The diplomatic push in Seattle, which even secured featured coverage on major local US television broadcasts, highlights a broader, year-long campaign to connect Indian fruit exporters with major global distributors and retailers. With structural supply chains solidifying in both North America and Europe, Indian agricultural representatives are looking to capitalize on high international demand for seasonal premium produce.
