During his visit to the Palamuru Project, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy made crucial remarks regarding the sharing of Krishna and Godavari river waters. He expressed optimism that discussions with the Andhra Pradesh government are actively ongoing and that good news would soon be delivered to the people of Telangana. However, the Chief Minister firmly clarified that despite these bilateral talks, Telangana would never compromise or give up even a single drop of its lawful and constitutional share of water. He emphasized that his government prioritizes finding practical “solutions” over engaging in political “disputes,” adding that further talks would only progress once clearances for the pending Palamuru and Dindi projects are secured.
CM Revanth Reddy strongly criticized the previous BRS regime, alleging that Palamuru district suffered severe neglect during their ten-year rule. He pointed out that the failure of the past government to even complete necessary land acquisition tasks was the primary reason they could not provide irrigation water to even a single acre in the region. He further accused BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao of abandoning Palamuru after coming to power, despite the district having supported him during his politically challenging times. Asserting his government’s unwavering commitment to transforming the drought-prone and migration-heavy district into a fertile region, the Chief Minister personally guaranteed that he would take full responsibility for completing the project.
Turning his focus to the opposition parties that attempted to disrupt his schedule, the Chief Minister slammed their protests, stating that burning effigies during official project inspections exposed a purely political agenda. He dismissed all allegations suggesting that the Congress government was deliberately delaying the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme to escalate costs. Revanth Reddy directed the concerned officials to expedite all pending works on a war footing, reiterating that providing adequate irrigation and drinking water to the local farming community remains the ultimate goal of his administration.
