Corruption Case: Massive Haul of Cash and Gold Seized from Deputy Director Narahari’s Bank Lockers

The disproportionate assets case against Narahari, the Deputy Director of the Telangana Lands and Survey Department, has taken a sensational turn. In a recent raid, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) unraveled another massive layer of illegal wealth after breaking open the official’s bank lockers. The family members of the accused reportedly refused to hand over the locker keys, prompting the ACB officials to break them open in the presence of bank management, leading to a jaw-dropping recovery.

During the targeted operation, ACB detectives seized ₹1.5 crore in cold hard cash and approximately 2.5 kilograms of gold ornaments hidden directly inside the bank lockers. Investigators expressed utter disbelief at how a government servant could amass such vast wealth by abusing his official position. The sheer scale of the discovery has sent shockwaves through the department, underscoring deep-rooted corruption within regional land administration.

This latest haul comes on top of an already substantial empire of illicit wealth uncovered during initial raids at Narahari’s residence and office. Previously, the anti-graft agency froze fixed deposits (FDs) worth ₹5 crore and bank accounts containing ₹2.29 crore, all registered under the names of Narahari and his immediate family. Furthermore, 1.3 kilograms of gold and a staggering 8 kilograms of silver articles were confiscated in the initial phase. With the recent locker recoveries combined, the market value of Narahari’s unaccounted assets is estimated to run into tens of crores of rupees, and the ACB is now widening its probe to identify potential accomplices.
