According to international media reports, the notification was submitted under the War Powers Resolution, formally informing lawmakers of the military action.
The notice reportedly states that the military operation began on July 7. Trump is said to have informed Congress that the decision was taken to safeguard the security of the American people, protect U.S. national interests, and uphold the country’s foreign policy objectives.
