Amid rising tensions in West Asia, U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly informed Congress that the United States has resumed military operations against Iran. According to international media reports, the notification was submitted under the War Powers Resolution, formally informing lawmakers of the military action.
The notice reportedly states that the military operation began on July 7. Trump is said to have informed Congress that the decision was taken to safeguard the security of the American people, protect U.S. national interests, and uphold the country’s foreign policy objectives.
The latest development is expected to further escalate tensions in the region, which has already been witnessing heightened instability. However, the U.S. administration is yet to release detailed information regarding the scope, objectives, and duration of the renewed military operation.
