A shocking incident in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district has sparked widespread outrage after a 21-year-old woman was allegedly chased and fatally stabbed at the KSRTC bus stand in Bantwal. The attack, which occurred in broad daylight on Thursday, was captured on video, with the footage circulating widely on social media.
The victim has been identified as Lavanya (21), a resident of Kakkepadavu who worked at a private nursing home in Kalladka. According to police, she was returning to her hometown after finishing work when the accused, identified as Chetan (22), allegedly followed her to the bus stand and boarded the same bus.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused, who is said to be a distant relative of the victim, had allegedly been harassing her for some time after she rejected his advances. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the case and are examining all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
