Jagan Slams Andhra Government Over Guntur Assault Incident, Raises Law and Order Concerns

YSR Congress Party chief and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly condemned the alleged assault on a woman in Guntur district, accusing the NDA coalition government of failing to maintain law and order. In a post on X, Jagan described the incident as a blot on humanity and demanded that the Chandrababu Naidu-led government take responsibility for the alleged breakdown in public safety.

Jagan alleged that the incident occurred on Wednesday but was deliberately kept under wraps for three days. He claimed that the government acted only after videos related to the incident went viral on social media. According to him, if the authorities had responded promptly when the victim first approached the police, the situation would not have escalated.

Questioning the police response, Jagan alleged that instead of immediately arresting the accused, attempts were made to settle the matter at the police station. He criticized the government’s handling of the case, asking whether action is taken only after videos surface online and whether the victim’s complaint alone was not sufficient to trigger immediate legal action.
