The Telangana government is preparing a comprehensive plan to take the state’s eco-tourism sector to new heights. Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju has directed officials to formulate an extensive action plan for the development of eco-tourism across the state. Special measures are being planned to expand tourism activities in dense forest and scenic regions such as Amrabad and Kawal Tiger Reserves, Kinnerasani, Nallamala, Bhadrachalam, Adilabad, and Mulugu.
The government aims to create large-scale employment opportunities for local youth through eco-tourism projects while significantly increasing the state’s tourism revenue and overall Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Officials have been instructed to utilize Central Government funds for these projects with maximum efficiency and to attract investments through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to accelerate new initiatives.
The Chief Secretary emphasized that the Telangana Forest Development Corporation and the Tourism Development Corporation must work in complete coordination. He also directed senior officials to develop world-class tourism facilities in key areas such as Future City, Ananthagiri, and Vikarabad without disturbing ecological balance or harming natural resources, ensuring that environmental conservation remains a top priority.
