A tragic incident took place in the Krishna River near Vijayawada when three youngsters drowned while they had gone for a swim. Six youths from the Krishnalanka area of Vijayawada had reportedly visited the Sitanagaram Pushkar Ghat on the Guntur side to take a dip in the river.
The accident occurred when the youths accidentally moved into a deeper section of the river while bathing. Three of them were swept away by the strong water current and drowned. Police identified the deceased as Vesam Gautham, Gaddam Joshua and Teja.
Local residents and the victims’ friends noticed the youngsters struggling in the water and attempted to rescue them. However, their efforts were unsuccessful, leaving the families and local community in deep shock and grief.
