Big-budget productions with superstar actors and spectacular visuals are not always necessary to create a box-office sensation. Films with strong content can also achieve massive success even with limited investments. After movies like Hanu-Man proved that low-budget films can deliver extraordinary returns, a new Chinese film, Dear You, is now making headlines by crossing the ₹2,000 crore mark worldwide.
Directed by Hongchun Lan, Dear You was released in Chinese theatres on April 30, 2026. The film was reportedly made on a budget of around $14 million, which is approximately ₹132 crore in Indian currency. Despite its modest production cost, the movie has achieved remarkable success at the Chinese box office.
According to reports, Dear You has already collected more than $300 million in China, equivalent to approximately ₹2,849 crore. The film’s strong content and audience response are believed to be major factors behind its extraordinary run. Following its massive success in China, the movie is also set to release in the United States, potentially giving it an even wider international audience.
