Mivi, a homegrown consumer technology brand, on Saturday announced its entry into the smartphone category with Mivi One, which will be launched on September 24. To be available on Flipkart, Mivi One will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon® 5G mobile platform, bringing high-speed connectivity, responsive performance and modern smartphone experiences to consumers.
Mivi One extends the company’s investment in domestic R&D, engineering and manufacturing, with the device produced through its growing manufacturing ecosystem in Hyderabad.
The company is bringing its experience of building products for Indian consumers into smartphones, with Mivi One focused on combining performance, thoughtful design and value in a category where consumers increasingly expect more from their devices.
Talking about the announcement, Mivi co-founder Viswanadh Kandula said the first decade of Mivi was about proving that an Indian company could build, design and manufacture consumer technology for discerning Indian consumers. Smartphones are the natural next steps in that journey. “Our goal is to build similar end-to-end capabilities in-house for smartphones,” he added.
