Senior BRS legislator and former Minister T Harish Rao called out Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for making misleading statements on the controversial Polavaram-Banakacherla link project. He accused the Chief Minister of betraying Telangana’s interests in a covert water-sharing deal with Andhra Pradesh.
Sharing an audio clip of All India Radio (AIR) on X, Harish Rao said that Andhra Pradesh Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu had already exposed the secret Banakacherla deal in Delhi on Wednesday.
He noted that the Central Government had now confirmed it through an AIR news bulletin, which directly contradicts Revanth Reddy’s public denial of any such discussion at the Jal Shakti Ministry meeting held in Delhi on Wednesday.
The former Minister stated that the Congress government in Telangana, in collusion with the BJP and TDP, was compromising on the State’s rightful share of Krishna River water. “This alliance is compromising on Telangana’s future,” he warned.
He demanded an unconditional apology and urged Revanth Reddy to immediately withdraw from the alleged pact and come clean. “Stop this treachery or face the people’s wrath,” he cautioned.
