BRS working president KT Rama Rao asserted that only party chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had done justice to Backward Classes (BCs) in the past and would continue to prioritise them in political representation in the future. Urging voters to ensure victory of BRS candidates in upcoming local body elections, he stated that only a strong mandate would show the Congress government its place, ensuring a course correction.
“KCR alone has stood by BCs yesterday, and BRS will ensure their rightful share tomorrow. This Congress government can be brought to order only when BRS secures a bumper victory in local body polls,” he asserted, after distributing sewing machines and KCR Kits to women in Parakala on Sunday as part of the “Gift a Smile” initiative.
Taking sharp aim at the Congress government, the BRS working president said the Congress was indulging in large-scale corruption and intimidation at the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal. He charged some Congress Ministers and MLAs with threatening major investors like KITEX, which has promised 25,000 jobs, to allocate employment only to their recommended candidates.
“Congress hooliganism is pushing industries away from Telangana,” he cautioned, adding that project estimates for a canal inside the textile park had ballooned from Rs 137 crore to Rs 297 crore due to the Congress leaders’ greed for commissions.
He assured that BRS would raise these irregularities in the upcoming Assembly session, stating that the Congress’s mismanagement could derail Warangal’s industrial growth and deprive thousands of local youth of employment.
Rama Rao also targeted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over unfulfilled welfare schemes. He said the Congress government owes Rs 50,000 to every woman whom it promised Rs 2,500 per month. He said though Revanth Reddy promises to make one crore women into crorepatis, his government released only Rs 300 crore of the Rs 3,000 crore promised to self-help groups.
Further, he said the Revanth Reddy government was harassing 3,000 Grihalakshmi beneficiaries in Parakala constituency without releasing sanctioned funds despite court orders. He vowed to take up fight for their cause inside and outside the Assembly.
He also criticised the Congress for failing to ensure timely supply of urea, fertilisers and seeds. “A Chief Minister who cannot provide basic inputs to farmers has no right to stay in office,” he declared, vowing to continue fighting for Telangana’s self-respect and growth.
