CM Revanth Reddy Warns Group II Officers Against Parental Neglect; Proposes 10% Salary Deduction

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy delivered a strong caution to 783 newly appointed Group II officers, urging them never to forget their roots or the sacrifices made by their parents. He announced a major social initiative, proposing that 10% of any official’s salary would be deducted if they are found neglecting their parents, with the amount directly credited to the parents’ bank accounts. The Chief Minister confirmed that a new law would soon be enacted to implement this initiative and instructed Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to form a committee involving the new officers to draft the necessary rules.

The Chief Minister utilized the event to emphasize accountability and take aim at the opposition. He urged the new officers to ensure that students in residential schools were not served contaminated food and to maintain accountability across all departments. Taking a dig at the BRS, he alleged that past leaders derive “devilish pleasure” from tragedies like student deaths, attempting to use such incidents as “weapons to tarnish the government and regain power.” He also announced efforts to ensure a Congress victory in the upcoming Jubilee Hills bypoll.

Highlighting the efforts of his government, Revanth Reddy praised the transparency of the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TGPSC), asking the youth to compare the qualifications of members and the sincerity of results under the current government versus the past. He revealed that many Group II candidates were also selected in Group I, and assured that a fresh notification would be released to fill the resulting Group I vacancies. He further confirmed that the government would soon issue appointment letters for Group III and Group IV posts, totaling around 11,000 appointments across various categories.
