Fever Epidemics Surround Gurukuls: Poor Sanitation Identified as Main Cause!

The health of students in Gurukul schools within the agency areas of Andhra Pradesh is causing concern. Specifically, in a government Gurukul school in the Kurupam region, the outbreak of Jaundice (Pitta Jwaram) symptoms in over 150 students has created a severe stir. The situation’s gravity is further highlighted by the death of two students in connection with this incident. Even before this crisis could be fully controlled, medical camps conducted in Salur and other areas tested 2,900 people, identifying 21 individuals with severe fever symptoms.

Medical experts and local officials are pointing to poor sanitation as the main reason for the spread of these fever epidemics in the schools. It is believed that the water tanks in the schools have not been cleaned for years, which is cited as the root cause of this health crisis. Officials confirmed that due to these sanitation deficiencies, diseases like Malaria and Jaundice are rampant in the area.

The government is taking immediate measures to control the spread of diseases like Malaria and Jaundice. Students exhibiting fever symptoms are being provided with immediate medical attention. However, health department officials stressed that for a long-term solution to this issue, there is an urgent need to improve the sanitation conditions in the schools.
