A video showcasing a sleek, black-coloured Vande Bharat Express has gone viral on social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), leading many users to speculate that it is the upcoming, official design of the new rake. The striking black livery, which features large windows and an aerodynamic finish, drew widespread attention for its resemblance to the classic Rajdhani Express design.
Fact Check Confirms AI Origin
However, fact-checks have conclusively revealed that the viral video is AI-generated and does not represent an official design or prototype from Indian Railways. Currently, the Vande Bharat Express operates in two official colour variants: the original white-and-blue and the newer orange-and-grey design introduced earlier this year. The supposed “black edition” does not exist in reality.
Inconsistencies and Expert Warning
Several inconsistencies confirm the video’s artificial origin. The front of the train displays the text “Vande Bharat 2003,” even though the first train was launched in 2019. Furthermore, the side panels show distorted and unreadable text, which is a common artifact in AI-generated visuals. Experts warn that such synthetic videos, created using AI rendering tools, frequently go viral due to their photorealistic and futuristic appeal, and have urged users to verify the sources of such clips. Indian Railways officials have confirmed that there are no official plans for a black-coloured version of the Vande Bharat train at present.
