In a shocking incident in Punjab, national-level Kabaddi player Tejpal Singh (26) was allegedly shot dead by his friends in the Jagraon area of Ludhiana district. This brutal incident, which occurred near the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) office, has caused widespread outrage in the locality. Police have preliminarily determined that the murder was a result of old disputes and personal quarrels between the victim and the accused.
According to the police, Tejpal Singh was walking towards a factory with his two friends when an argument about an old quarrel began between them. The verbal spat quickly escalated into a severe fight. During the altercation, another unidentified person who was with the friends took out a gun and shot Tejpal in the chest. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries before arrival.
The police have registered a case and initiated a search operation to apprehend the culprits who fled the scene immediately after the shooting. Authorities stated that the murder was motivated by past enmity and assured that the accused would be arrested soon. This tragic loss of a national-level sportsman has highlighted the issue of violent crime in the region.
