ISRO’s Ambitious December 2025: US Satellite Launch and Gaganyaan Test

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) continues its impressive streak, serving both domestic needs and positioning itself as a key commercial partner globally by offering low-cost space technology. ISRO is preparing for several major launches in December 2025, including two critical satellite missions and a significant experimental test for the upcoming Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission.

The scheduled launches for December include the commercial mission of the US communication satellite Bluebird, which ISRO will deploy using its heavy-lift launch vehicle, the LVM3 M6 (Bahubali Rocket), from the Second Launch Pad at Sriharikota in the first week of December. Following this, the PSLV C62 rocket is set to launch the Oceansat 3A satellite in the final week of December. ISRO’s track record of low-cost, successful missions has made India the preferred choice for countries like the US for key satellite deployment.

In addition to the satellite launches, ISRO is also expected to conduct a crucial experimental test as part of the phased trials for its maiden human space mission, Gaganyaan, in December. The organization plans to proceed with the actual manned mission only after the successful completion of all tests, having already conducted over 20 such experimental trials. Furthermore, ISRO is preparing to launch the PSLV N1 rocket, featuring new technology, in January 2026.
