Producer Bunny Vasu Strongly Condemns Piracy Amidst iBomma Arrest: “Small Film Producers Are Suffering”

Following the arrest of iBomma website admin ‘Ravi,’ the Telugu film industry is facing a strange social media trend where some users are posting in defense of piracy, claiming “the one who does piracy is our hero” due to high movie ticket prices. Expressing strong disapproval of this attitude, prominent producer Bunny Vasu spoke out against the trend, emphasizing the severe financial damage piracy inflicts on filmmakers.

Speaking at the ‘Raju Peds Rambai’ movie event, Bunny Vasu asserted that piracy is an absolute wrong, questioning the morality of defending such an action simply because it benefits a few. He pointed out that while ticket prices are significantly hiked for only about 10-15 big-budget films a year, piracy affects all other movies as well, primarily devastating the finances of small film producers.

Vasu clarified that although the high ticket price issue mainly concerns large films, it is the small films that bear the brunt of the piracy losses. He revealed that even if a producer appears fine externally, they are often suffering internally due to piracy. He concluded by appealing to the public to recognize piracy as a moral transgression and reflect on their actions.
