AP Minister Lokesh Heads to US Seeking New Investments After Google Success

Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for IT and Human Resources, Nara Lokesh, is scheduled to visit the United States from December 6 to 9 with the primary goal of attracting significant foreign investment to the state. This tour carries high expectations, especially following his previous success in securing a commitment from the tech giant Google to invest in Andhra Pradesh. The visit is a key part of the new coalition government’s focused strategy to accelerate industrial growth and re-establish ‘Brand AP’ on the global economic stage.

According to the finalized schedule, Lokesh will start his tour by addressing the Telugu diaspora at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, near Dallas, on December 6. This event is expected to draw approximately 8,000 attendees from across the US and Canada, with the NRI wings of the TDP, BJP, and Jana Sena organizing the massive gathering. Following the diaspora meeting, the Minister is scheduled to hold crucial meetings with representatives of major international companies in San Francisco on December 8 and 9, aiming to secure new investment commitments.

During his interactions, Lokesh is expected to highlight Andhra Pradesh’s highly attractive investor-friendly policies, its extensive 974-kilometer coastline, and upcoming infrastructure projects such as the Bhogapuram airport and new ports. He will also showcase unique initiatives like the ‘Skill Census’ and the planned AI University in Amaravati. The government is actively working to bring back companies that previously exited the state and is currently in talks with major firms like HCL and TCS for expansion, emphasizing the state’s readiness for substantial industrial development.
