On the second day of nominations, 4,901 nominations were filed for gram panchayats and 9,643 nominations for wards across the State.
The cumulative total of nominations filed on Thursday and Friday for gram panchayats is 8,198. Likewise, the cumulative nominations for wards are 11,502.
In the first phase of gram panchayats, elections will be held for 4,236 panchayats and 37,440 wards. The last day for filing nominations will be Saturday. Candidates can withdraw their nominations before December 3 and the final list of contesting candidates will be published on the same day.
