The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced good news for passengers traveling from Andhra Pradesh to Chennai: the Chennai Central-Narsapur Vande Bharat Express service will commence starting today, December 15, 2025. The route, which previously extended only up to Vijayawada, has now been extended to Narsapur in the West Godavari district.
The Vande Bharat Express is expected to complete the journey from Narsapur to Chennai in just nine hours. The train will run via Renigunta Junction, Nellore, Ongole, Tenali Junction, Vijayawada, Gudivada, and Bhimavaram. While the inaugural run is today, the train will be fully operational starting the day after tomorrow, December 17.
The scheduled departure time from Narsapur is 2:50 PM, reaching Chennai at 11:45 PM. The railway department has also finalized the ticket prices:
