Historic Republic Day in Amaravati: Governor Abdul Nazeer Highlights Polavaram and ‘Swarnandhra Vision 2047’

For the first time, Andhra Pradesh celebrated its official Republic Day ceremony in the capital city of Amaravati. Following the unfurling of the national flag, Governor Justice Abdul Nazeer delivered a comprehensive address detailing the state’s development roadmap. A significant portion of his speech focused on major irrigation milestones, specifically the Polavaram and Nallamala Sagar projects. The Governor assured that the government is committed to completing these projects efficiently while ensuring no inconvenience is caused to neighboring states, underscoring a collaborative approach to water management.

Beyond infrastructure, the Governor emphasized the government’s shift from “Ease of Doing Business” to “Speed of Doing Business.” He announced the upcoming launch of the Amaravati Quantum Valley and reiterated the goal of creating 20 lakh jobs across the state. While the capital city remains a primary focus for development, the Governor highlighted that Visakhapatnam is being strategically developed as a premier Economic Zone. He also noted the government’s success in reducing the financial burden on electricity consumers through the implementation of “True Down Charges.”

The Governor’s speech concluded with a strong focus on social welfare and the future. He noted that over 63 lakh people are receiving social pensions and highlighted the distribution of gas cylinders under the Deepam Scheme. Looking ahead, he stated that the government is working relentlessly toward the “2047 Swarnandhra Vision,” a long-term plan to transform Andhra Pradesh into a leading state. From agricultural initiatives like ‘Polam Pilustondi’ to the promotion of MSMEs through a ‘Plug and Play’ model, the address showcased a multi-pronged strategy for the state’s prosperity.
