“Better If They Don’t Come”: Srikkanth Warns Pakistan of Team India’s Dominance Ahead of T20 World Cup

Former Indian opener Krishnamachari Srikkanth has taken a humorous yet sharp dig at the Pakistan cricket team regarding their participation in the T20 World Cup starting February 7. Amidst the ongoing uncertainty over whether Pakistan will travel for the tournament, Srikkanth quipped that it might be safer for them to stay away. He joked that if Pakistan does show up, the Indian batters are in such “destructive form” that they will make the Pakistani bowlers see stars, figuratively warning them of a massive onslaught on the field.

Srikkanth backed his claims by highlighting India’s recent “superhuman” performances against New Zealand. He pointed out how India chased down a massive target of 209 in just 15.2 overs in the second T20I and finished a 154-run chase within 10 overs in the third. “Looking at this hitting, many teams might just say, ‘We aren’t coming, you keep the World Cup trophy yourself,'” Srikkanth joked. He added that while PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is still deliberating, the reality is that the current Indian lineup is playing a brand of T20 cricket that is unprecedented.

The veteran cricketer specifically praised the power-hitting capabilities of the current squad, remarking that if an Indian batter hits a six in Colombo, the ball might as well land in Chennai. He noted that he has never seen such aggressive hitting in the history of T20 cricket and emphasized that Team India has sent a “chilling warning” to every participating nation. According to Srikkanth, the sheer confidence and strike rate of the Indian players make them the undisputed favorites, leaving rivals with very little room to breathe.
