In a first-of-its-kind initiative to boost administrative efficiency, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has released performance-based rankings for all 175 assembly constituencies. The rankings are based on a comprehensive survey evaluating MLA accessibility, the effective implementation of government welfare schemes, and overall public satisfaction. This data-driven approach aims to foster healthy competition among legislators and ensure that governance reaches the grassroots level effectively.
Top Performers and Grading Statistics
The Vijayawada West constituency, represented by BJP leader Y.S. Chowdary (Sujana Chowdary), secured the first rank in the state with an impressive score of 93%. Following closely in second place is the Gajuwaka constituency, represented by TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao, with 92%. The third and fourth positions were bagged by Kakinada and Vijayawada East respectively. Overall, the state’s performance looks robust on paper, with the government categorizing the constituencies into three grades:

Focus on Accountability and Improvement
CM Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that these rankings are not just numbers but a reflection of how effectively an MLA serves their people. While 174 constituencies managed to secure an ‘A’ grade or above, the Chief Minister noted that there is always room for improvement, particularly for the single constituency that fell into the ‘B’ grade. He has been holding one-on-one meetings with legislators—especially first-time MLAs—offering guidance on resolving pending files and increasing field visits to maintain high levels of public trust.
