Constable to the Rescue: Heroic Save at Vijayawada Station as Passenger Slips Near Moving Train

In a dramatic turn of events at Vijayawada Railway Station, a life was saved thanks to the lightning-fast reflexes of an RPF constable. The incident occurred on Platform Number 6 when a passenger attempted to board the moving East Coast Express (18046), traveling from Cherlapalli to Shalimar. Due to a heavy rush, the train coaches were overcrowded, leading the passenger to make a hurried and risky attempt to get on the moving train, resulting in him losing his footing.

As the passenger slipped and was about to fall into the dangerous gap between the train and the platform, Constable M. Narasimha Rao, who was on duty, noticed the peril. Without a second’s hesitation, he lunged toward the passenger and pulled him back onto the platform. The momentum caused both the constable, the passenger, and another bystander to tumble to the ground, but the crucial intervention prevented the traveler from being crushed under the wheels.

Following the incident, fellow passengers pulled the emergency chain to stop the train. Once it was confirmed that everyone was safe and uninjured, the passenger was allowed to re-board the train to continue his journey with his family. South Central Railway shared the CCTV footage of the rescue on social media, praising Constable Narasimha Rao for his bravery while sternly advising passengers never to board or alight from moving trains.
