Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan delivered a powerful and emotional speech in the State Assembly during a discussion on the Tirumala Laddu adulteration case. He condemned the desecration of the sacred Prasadam during the previous government’s tenure, stating that this is not merely a political issue but one that deeply affects the sentiments of millions of Hindu devotees worldwide. Kalyan emphasized that those responsible for using adulterated ghee must face severe legal consequences to ensure the sanctity of Tirumala is never compromised again.
The Deputy CM questioned why the previous YSRCP government and its TTD board allowed such malpractice to occur. He pointed out the logistical impossibility of procuring pure cow ghee at ₹400 per liter, noting that even sesame oil costs more in the current market. Citing lab reports and the SIT investigation, Kalyan alleged that the substance used was a chemical mixture of palm oil and animal fats rather than genuine ghee. He further shocked the assembly by stating that these contaminated laddus were even sent to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir for its Prana Pratishtha ceremony, calling it a global insult to Sanatana Dharma.
Pawan Kalyan reiterated his demand for a national-level Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board to protect Hindu temples and traditions from such attacks. He drew parallels with other religions, questioning why there is silence when Hindu sentiments are hurt while a global outcry occurs for similar injustices in other faiths. Quoting a poem from Sri Krishna Devaraya’s Amuktamalyada, he reminded the house of a ruler’s duty to protect dharma and vowed that his government remains committed to punishing the 36 accused individuals identified by the SIT, regardless of their political stature.
