Moinabad Drugs Case: CM Revanth Reddy Clarifies Station Bail for Accused; Predicts 2029 Simultaneous Elections

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy confirmed that eight individuals arrested in the Moinabad farmhouse drugs case, including Andhra Pradesh MP Putta Mahesh, were granted station bail strictly in accordance with legal norms. He emphasized that as Chief Minister, he has no personal involvement in the bail process, as it is a standard legal procedure. To ensure a thorough investigation into the high-profile case, the state government has already constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe all angles of the drug network and the farmhouse gathering.

During his interaction, the Chief Minister also made significant political predictions regarding the future of elections in India. He stated that the scheduled 2028 Telangana Assembly elections might not occur as planned, as he foresees “Jamili” (simultaneous) elections taking place across the country in 2029. He also expressed his support for the early implementation of women’s reservations in legislative bodies, noting that such a move would be a welcome development for the nation’s democratic structure.

Earlier in the day, Revanth Reddy met with senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi in the national capital. Accompanied by TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and other state leaders, the Chief Minister introduced Vem Narender Reddy, who was recently elected to the Rajya Sabha, to the party’s high command. The discussions reportedly centered on state political developments and the strengthening of the party organization in Telangana as they navigate the current legislative session and ongoing investigations.
