Anantapur: Massive Scams Unearthed at Kadiri Registrar Office; Collector Orders High-Level Probe

A major corruption scandal has surfaced at the Sub-Registrar’s office in Kadiri, Anantapur district, involving allegations of widespread administrative irregularities and illegal land registrations. The issue gained significant momentum after BJP State Vice President S. Vishnuvardhan Reddy formally met with the District Collector to submit a detailed complaint. He alleged that certain officials have been bypassing government norms to register prohibited lands and government properties in favor of private individuals, causing a massive loss to the state exchequer.

Following the submission of the complaint, Vishnuvardhan Reddy highlighted that middle-men and brokers have essentially taken control of the registration process in Kadiri, acting with the alleged collusion of local staff. The allegations include the illegal conversion of agricultural land into residential plots without valid permissions and the tampering of records related to endowment and waqf lands. The BJP leader demanded a thorough audit of all registrations conducted over the past few years to identify the extent of the financial mismanagement and the beneficiaries of these illegal acts.

In response to the gravity of the accusations, the District Collector has promptly ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the functioning of the Kadiri Registrar office. A special team of senior officials has been tasked with scrutinizing the documents and digital records to verify the claims of procedural violations. The administration has assured the public that strict disciplinary and legal action will be initiated against any official found guilty of corruption, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward the exploitation of public land and resources.
