Actor Vijay, who earned crores of rupees as a top superstar in the Tamil film industry, has now begun a new chapter as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. After being sworn in as the CM, there is widespread curiosity about the salary he will receive in his new role as a public servant. While he was once the highest-paid actor, his transition to politics marks a move from staggering film remunerations to a regulated government pay scale.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu receives a basic monthly salary of ₹2,05,000. While this is relatively low compared to some other states, the total monthly income increases when various allowances are added. Including the Constituency Allowance (CVA) and daily allowances provided to him as an MLA, CM Vijay will receive a total monthly salary of approximately ₹2,85,000. These funds are intended to cover the expenses associated with official duties and meetings as a representative of the people.
Beyond the salary, Vijay is entitled to several government perks and high-level security. He will be provided with an official luxury bungalow in Chennai, which includes a camp office and quarters for staff. For travel, the state government provides a bulletproof SUV and a full convoy, covering all official travel expenses. Additionally, he has been granted Z+ category security, with over 30 elite commandos ensuring his safety. Even after retirement, he will continue to receive benefits such as a pension, medical facilities, and free rail travel for life.
