Kavitha Meets Telangana Governor Over Land Acquisition Issues: Files Complaint Against Revanth Reddy Government

K. Kavitha, the president of Telangana Rakshana Samithi (TRS), has approached the Telangana Governor seeking immediate justice for families displaced due to the state government’s land acquisition drives. On Tuesday, accompanied by Dharma Samaj Party President Visharadhan Maharaj and several affected victims, she met Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Lok Bhavan. During the meeting, she submitted a comprehensive memorandum detailing the grievances of victims from Khammam, Parigi, and the Regional Ring Road (RRR) sectors.

Kavitha requested the Governor to intervene and ensure alternative housing plots for the displaced families of Velugumatla in the Khammam district, whose houses were recently demolished. She also demanded the immediate cancellation of the land acquisition notice issued for an industrial park in Kadlapur of Parigi mandal. Furthermore, she raised concerns over the difficulties faced by local farmers due to the alignment changes of the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR).

Speaking to the media after her meeting with the Governor, Kavitha launched a scathing attack on the Congress government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. She criticized the administration for ruthlessly demolishing the houses of poor women, calling Revanth Reddy a merciless Chief Minister whose government is delivering tyrannical governance. While noting that the government temporarily halted land acquisition in Parigi and agreed to allocate land to Velugumatla victims due to ongoing public protests, she emphasized that these are only partial victories. Stating that central intervention is necessary for complete justice, she expressed hope that the Governor would act on the report, warning of intensified state-wide agitations if the victims are not fully compensated.
